tempered by ice?

tempered by ice twixt downs and sea

Late snowfall

Daffodils buried in white drifts

Flower heads broken.

But the bulbs will survive

Frost makes them stronger

Tempered by ice

next year they will be more fruitful

reminding me

this seasons trials

brokenness

have wrought in me new strength.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. James 1v2-3

  1. Beautiful! When I read this, it made me think of a poem I posted about being refined by fire. Not experiences we wish to go through, but the blessing that comes! (If you want to read it, mine is at http://www.outnumberedmom.com/2012/08/the-fire.html).

Visiting from Michelle's link up. Nice to "meet" you.

    1. thank you Laura, I'm an outnumbered mom too. Read your poem, so true that we look to the easy path but we need that fire.
