The Bible stands like a rock undaunted

We sang that great old hymn in church on Sunday. We were surrounded by Bibles as we are hosting a Bible exhibition. What a blessing to attend a church that's foundation is God's word.
Now I'm getting ready to have my life changed
This week our church starts a programme of Bible study called E100 from Scripture Union.100 selected daily readings to cover Genesis to Revelation.It's challenging, it's exciting.
Our speaker on Sunday said the Bible can change lives. And Timothy says with it the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."By grace alone I expect to live it and to prove it and make it mine".
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 16-17
How cool to be surrounded by Bibles!
ReplyDeleteMy home church is also doing E100 and I'm joining in online. What a gift to give to people a knowledge of the bible and love of God's word, but how easily we take it for granted.
ReplyDeleteScripture Union is such a great organization. I use to memorize Scripture as a kid with their program. Haven't even thought of them for years.

We learnt about Scripture Union on mission Sunday at church. After 140 years they are still 'encouraging people of all ages to meet God daily through the Bible and prayer' in 120 countries.
ReplyDeleteThe Bible exhibition also comes into schools. It was amazing to see the un-churched students surrounded by and looking into Bibles,and engaging with the history of the English language Bible.
Love that poem. Sometimes it's the oldies that are the best, in my mind!
